Go’in To The Car Wash By Tyler Gr. 1 When I go to the car wash I like the soap. The soap is different colors. The water splashes loud and when you are done, you go home with a clean car. A Party By Viola Gr. 2 In August me and my family went to the park. We had a birthday party. My mom bought a piñata and a cake. My mom, my sister, and my aunt cook chicken and rice. We eat at the park. Next my friends and my cousin gave me my birthday present. We danced African dances. I had a lot of fun. If You Give A Mouse A Book By Daniela Gr. 3 If you give a mouse a book…he is going to ask you for a pointer. When you give him the pointer he is going to invite his friends over. But, his friends are going to the store, so you have to take him to the store. On the way he sees a party. He sees some of his family. He says,”Hi.” And they said, “Hi.” His brothers are not there so he wants to go on to the store. But, he didn’t find his friends. So, he probably asks you to take him back home. He is going to call his friend. Then someone knocks on the door. It was his friend! They said, “Hi, we are sorry because we told you we were going to the store. I told you a lie. I was going to get a friend.” “That’s OK. Now will you read this book?” “Yes, but we got a surprise for you.” “Can I see?” “Yes, but close your eyes.” “Ok. Could I open them?” “Not yet.” “How long am I going to walk?” “Just two more steps. Now open them. Surprise!” “Oh thank you.” “Don’t say thank you to us.” “So who?” “Your family.” “Thanks. So now will everyone read with me?” When he wants to read your have to give him the pointer. You even have to read the book to them. The Five Senses By Arianna Gr. 4 Did you ever wonder what would happen if you didn’t have any of your senses? Well, here is the place to find out! Let’s start with sight. If you didn’t have sight, you wouldn’t be able to see the famous paintings and murals by Vincent Van Gogh. You also wouldn’t be able to see the colored leaves in Autumn. You wouldn’t be able to see the Denver Broncos win the Superbowl. Everything would be pitch-black for you because you wouldn’t have sight. Sight is the sense that gives power to your eyes. Smell is another sense you need. Smell helps you to sniff the pretty flowers and even – P.U. – the skunk’s spray. If you couldn’t smell, you wouldn’t be able to sniff the aroma of fried chicken when your mother bakes it, or the fresh smell of apple pie that your grandma just baked. Smell gives the power to your nose. Let’s go on to touch, shall we? Touch is how you put a part of your body to something else. If you couldn’t feel, you wouldn’t be able to feel the soft fur of a puppy, nor would you be able to feel the rough skin on an elephant. Next we have hearing. Hearing helps you to listen to what the teacher says for our homework assignment. If you couldn’t hear, you wouldn’t know if the Autumn leaves are crunching under your feet or not. Finally, let’s go on to taste. Taste means you eat or drink a food or liquid. If you couldn’t taste, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy a delicious chocolate milkshake or be able to savor McDonald’s fries and cheeseburgers. All of your senses are very important. Imagine if you didn’t have any senses at all! What would you do? Nothing! Your senses are one of the most important parts of your body! Christmas Moments By Kennede Gr. 5 It was Christmas Eve at about one o’clock in the morning when I heard creeping down the stairs at my grandparent’s house. I thought it was nothing so I decided to go back to sleep, but I couldn’t because I kept hearing things moving from one place to another. When I decided to go downstairs I saw my brothers Quincy and William trying to see if they got any presents. “What are you doing,” I asked? “Umm nothing,” they said as they shoved the presents back under the tree. “You are going to be in so much trouble,” I said. At that moment the grown-ups started to come into the living room. My brothers and I ran and hid under the table. “What are you doing in the middle of the night trying to open presents,” I whispered. “We were just to see how many presents we got,” murmured Quincy and William. We looked back under the table and saw my grandparents putting more gifts under the tree. Finally, when they were finished stuffing stockings and putting away presents we ran up the stairs as fast as we could. The next morning when we came down stairs we weren’t surprised at what we saw, but we were surprised at all the people that we saw. We saw Uncle Jimmy, Auntie Tina, Uncle Bob, and Auntie Margie. We even saw When night fell we headed back to our grandparents house. As soon as we got home we headed straight to bed because everyone was so tired. That was the best Christmas ever!!!
