A sincere welcome to the Whiteman Elementary School Website!

My name is Julie Murgel.

It has been my honor to start my principalship at Whiteman Elementary during the 2006 school-year.  I am proud of the opportunity to continue as principal for my second year with such a diverse, dynamic community and staff.

As principal, I believe my work is to ensure that Whiteman is a safe learning environment where courtesy and kindness prevail and there is respect for differences in other people, customs, and cultures.   At Whiteman, I will make it my goal that every child is happy and successful.  I believe that it is vital for each student to succeed in reading, writing, and mathematics.

I personally welcome our parents, families, and community members as engaged partners in our students’ education.  Stop by the office and visit with me.   I would love to hear what is going well at Whiteman, how we can improve, and something special about your child and their education.

About me:

• I have been involved in schools and children for 14 years, 12 years right here in Denver Public Schools.
• I taught in the classroom for 9 years.
• I was honored as the 2002 Colorado State Presidential Secondary Mathematics Teacher. 
• I will always be a teacher at heart and have an endearing passion for children and their learning.
